Frequently Asked Questions

A clear, simple guide to help parents and childcare providers get the most out of ChildcareProvider.co.uk.

Getting Started

Start here if you're new. These questions will help you register, build your profile, and understand how to unlock the full features of ChildcareProvider.co.uk.

How do I register?

Click 'Sign Up' at the top of the page (or click here ), choose whether you're a Parent or Childcare Provider, then fill in a few basic details. You'll be asked to verify your mobile number so we can keep your account secure.

How do I create my profile?

After registering, simply follow the on-screen steps to complete your profile.

You'll be asked to share a little about yourself, whether that's a warm introduction to your family (for parents) or an overview of your experience and services (for providers). You'll also add your location, availability, and the childcare services you offer or are looking for.

A completed profile helps you appear in more local searches and unlocks additional features on the platform, including messaging and job applications. Filling out your profile only takes a few minutes, and it's the best way to connect with the right match.

Can I switch between parent and provider accounts?

No, you'll need to create separate accounts. Parent and provider accounts offer different features and tools, so they must be kept separate for safety, accuracy, and clarity. If you'd like to use both roles, simply create one account as a parent and another as a childcare provider.

Is the service free?

Yes. Searching for childcare providers or childcare jobs is completely free.

For parents, posting a job ad is also free, and once your profile is completed, you'll automatically receive a FREE Welcome Subscription. This gives you full access to messaging providers and receiving applications.

For childcare providers, searching for local families is free. To contact parents or apply for jobs, you'll need an active subscription.

What subscription options are available?

We offer flexible plans for both parents and childcare providers, so you can choose the subscription that best fits your needs. You can explore all available plans on our Subscription page .

Trust, Safety & Verification

Your safety and the safety of children, parents, and childcare professionals is our highest priority. These FAQs explain how we protect you and ensure trustworthy connections.

Do you carry out checks on users?

Yes. Safety is at the heart of everything we do.

We verify identity, proof of address, and DBS documentation so parents can feel confident about the providers they connect with, and providers can feel equally safe when engaging with families. Our platform is built to protect children, parents, and childcare professionals, ensuring every connection feels trustworthy.

How do I upload my ID or proof of address?

You can upload your documents through the Verifications section of your profile. We provide clear guidance on what forms of ID and proof of address are accepted, and you'll always know exactly what you need to submit.

All documents are handled securely, reviewed by trained team members, and never shared publicly. This verification helps build a trusted community where both parents and providers can feel confident connecting with one another.

How do DBS checks work?

A DBS check is one of the most important ways we help keep families and children safe.

Childcare providers can upload either their DBS certificate or proof that they're registered with the DBS Update Service. Once submitted, our team carefully reviews the document. When verified, a DBS badge will appear on your profile, giving parents clear, visible reassurance that you've completed this essential safety step.

Where can I apply for a DBS check?

If you need to obtain a DBS check, you can apply through:

If you're unsure which type of DBS you need, most nannies, babysitters, childminders, and tutors typically require a Standard or Enhanced DBS Check.

How long do verifications take?

We know how important access to work and childcare is, so we aim to complete all verifications as quickly and safely as possible.

Most identity, address, and DBS verifications are completed within 24 to 72 hours. Our team carefully reviews each document to protect the integrity of our community. As soon as your status changes, you'll receive a notification so you can start using all features confidently.

Is my data safe?

Absolutely. Protecting your personal information is one of our highest priorities.

We use secure encryption, industry-leading safety practices, and ongoing monitoring to safeguard your data at every step. Verification documents are stored securely, never shared without your permission, and only used to confirm your identity and help keep the platform safe for everyone.

Your privacy matters and we work hard to ensure your experience on ChildcareProvider.co.uk feels safe, transparent, and trustworthy. You can read more about our Privacy Policy here .
